SR-1 Seismic Safety Ring is designed for installations where additional safety is required. The SR-1 can also help maintain the integrity of the ceiling before the speaker assembly is installed. Made of non-corrosive steel for strength and durability. Installation of the SR-1 Ring should not add over 90 seconds to the installation time of the complete speaker assembly.
Cross-section view illustrating how the SR-1 Seismic Safety Ring secures the SST-1 Speaker Support Truss to the ceiling tile before either the SE-1 Speaker Enclosure or the speaker assembly is installed. Complete installation instructions with each purchase of the SR-1 seismic safety ring. The SE-1 Speaker Enclosure meets the U.L. 1480 (UUMW) Listing Standard for Speakers and Amplifiers for Fire Protective Signaling Systems along with the U.L. 2043 Test Standard. For use in air-handling spaces. The SR-1 is fastened to the Speaker Support Truss with four #8 truss head/Phillips screws that are furnished. There are six (6) convenient holes in the SST-1 for tie points for support wires where required for safety. Our SR-1 Seismic Safety Ring when used in conjunction with our SST-1 Speaker Support Truss and our SE-1 Speaker Enclosure will combine with any U.L. Listed speaker assembly (8") in this configuration to make a complete U.L. Listed assembly for use in air-handling spaces. Sometimes a suspended ceiling is used as an AIR RETURN PLENUM.
